One of my favourite humans @timdrewcifixion put out a food zine "for the people". I love his take on the food scene: that cookbooks have become too expensive for most regular folk, and why can't we just come together to talk about food without shelling out the $$?
As a "creative brief", he came to me with a big pile of old punk zines which I happily devoured, They were perfect specimens on how to break all the rules of design and still create something visually compelling using basic print technology.
Following this approach, we create a super cute, food zine in booklet form. Tim, being the cool guy that he is, happens to be well connected to insanely creative people, so in lieu of highly stylized recipe photography, he asked three illustrators to contribute to the project.
I am so, so happy he asked me to be a part of this project. It is fun, insightful, and fills a real niche in the food publishing industry.
